How can we download the planes like Jorg mentioned?

Hey guys, just wondering where the option is to download the planes rather than stream them like Jorg has mentioned a few times?

Exactly… How…? There is no option to download in ‘My Library’.

I have a feeling it’s connected to the marketplace, which, as we know, is unavailable for a few weeks. :pensive_face:

So, I definitely think this is related to the marketplace. If I click an aircraft (don’t click multiple), a More Options box comes up bottom right, clicking this takes you to the marketplace.

I agree. If I had to guess, the function tied to the marketplace.

I’d rather download world updates so I can rely on data streaming a bit less. Can’t do that yet either.

Confirming this feature is not in the sim at the moment unfortunately. I don’t have information on when it will be added back but will take note for the team. Thank you!

Beats me why every single aircraft is streamed. No wonder the servers are hammered. There should have been an option at set up, “do you want to download your library?”

I see the upside. My FS20 install is over 600GB now.

But I agree, the functionality to download assets should be available now, not tied to the marketplace, and it should be presented as an option during that first load the sim does.

It’s really great that streaming is available for POIs and Photogrammetry in world updates etc, but streaming aircraft’s and airports is causing too many problems, especially when servers are struggling😕

FBW A32NX works, albeit with scratches on the glass and some weird engine start up issues. Performance is silky smooth, which fuels my theory on streamed planes having a major performance impact. This will do me until the marketplace opens. I just hope that when it does, we don’t have a repeat performance of the launch…

Edit: Actually… it doesn’t work that great, but performance is excellent.

I was actually just wondering about this but also from the other side of it - how do you disable addons that you have but don’t want? But I’m guessing that is the same thing that isn’t currently available

I’m assuming downloading of aircraft and scenery wasn’t supported at launch, as it would have created an even heavier strain on the servers. Those servers which they knew could be strained by near simultaneous worldwide initial download and attempts to enter the “game world”

Once the initial few days of exceptional server demand wanes, I’m hoping the option to download will be switched on.

Yeah same here, it’s unfortunate right now because it’s a bit of a vicious circle lol. The server demand was too high for downloads but streaming aircraft with the servers now they are is also causing issues🤣
