I just turned on 2024, and saw one of my favorite aircraft, that, this time, I was forced to purchase from the Marketplace, and, it hurts so much, it’s named after the author of the DLC rather than the manufacturer of the plane.
SMH.
It just makes me not even want to play the game now that I can’t control how my hangar is organized. I’ve been using FS since the '80’s, and I’ve always spent a lot of time curating my hangar so I can find the plane I want, and just have fun perusing all the planes I own. For as long as can remember, I’ve loved collecting aircraft memorabilia, built models, studied, read, I’ve collected thousands of books and manuals. And now they’ve taken that away from me. The ability to know the history of aircraft.
First they took away my ability to create my own ui_types. And now, I have zero control over the organization of my library. And I can’t even tell what airplanes they are without having to think about it for a few minutes.
Sooo… Has anyone figured out how to change the manufacturer and name of streamed aircraft in FS2024 so I can organize my hangar appropriately?
I don’t mind the time it would take to maintain it. I was able to do it in 2020 by making liveries. But they fixed that loophole that’s been in FS forever.
I’ve resisted purchasing from the Marketplace for a long time mainly because of this problem (and others). Now market forces are taking one of my favorite things about FS away from me.
I guess I’m picturing maybe there’s some way to spoof the system by making my own en_locpak that changes the values for the better.
