How do we edit default aircraft on the ground? (Airport editing)

I’m trying to figure out how to edit default aircraft on the ground, in 3 main areas:

  1. Move aircraft that appear when the editor is opened. Somehow, many airports have aircraft facing the wrong direction in parking spots, for example. I’d like to spin them around and choose to replace or add new ones. Some are parked also at an angle that doesn’t match the parking spots.

  1. Stop incorrect or unwanted aircraft from appearing - for example, fighter jets parked in small GA spots at small airports, or gliders parked under jetways.

  2. If possible… stop aircraft breakdancing.

breakdancing

I’ve googled a bit but haven’t found anything helpful. I’m hoping to be able to avoid complicated parking path editing in 3rd party software, so if that’s the case, at least for now.

thanks

  1. I haven"t actually moved static aircraft around, but have used the SDK. I would think they are placed, moved and deleted the same way as objects like hangars or other buildings.
  2. This requires more knowledge about the SDK. The placement of each parking and the path leading to it must be changed, as well as the type of aircraft allowed in the parking spot. Using a small app called Airport to Project, this can be done easily. (A search for that name on this Forum should get you a link).
  3. MS/Asobo will be required to fix this, AFAIK.

Thanks - I can’t select any static aircraft, and they don’t show up in the object list…

  1. I’ve used Airport Design Editor (ADE) for that. You can select each parking spot and move them - even delete them if you want - and also turn the heading to whatever degrees you want. That’s the only way I know to do it.

  2. I hated seeing those velocicraptors, or whilrybirds, or whatever they are, so I just deleted them from the Content Manager - problem solved (for me). But if you really want the figher jets in the game, then that won’t work.

  3. I agree with CurrentFoil that this one is on MSAsobo, but I could have sworn that I read somewhere that using AIGround at least mitigated that effect. I could be wrong about that though.

Yes, you’ve reminded me, you need Airport to Project for that, too.

As @DestructZero915 says, yoU can use Airport Design Editor, too. They will both work for what you want to do, so you can choose which one you like.

Parking spots you can edit.

The “Static” aircraft, except for those airports you download where they have put them in, you can’t edit them. They are a form of AI aircraft. The “breakdancing” aircraft had been fixed for a couple of revs, but they came back in full force a few versions ago. I sure wish they’d fix that, it’s soooo annoying.

Just turn off the aircraft going to get fuel if you have to, Asobo. It’s stupid and doesn’t work and only makes the “Living World” experience horrible.
