How do you Change Liveries?

I, finally after ~4.5 hours, loaded into a walkaround for the C172.

All of the keyframes showed it in its default livery we all know and love(?). However, now that I’m looking right at it, it is in an aerial advertising firm livery.

I quit the flight (congrats I got an achievement for my first flight and I never even stepped into the cockpit, ha!) and I am looking at the World Map and the EFB page for the aircraft, but I see nothing about changing liveries. Again, the keyframe is the default livery.

Anyone?

Okay, I clicked the airplane image in the upper left of the World Map and it is presenting me with all the aircraft I have access to in a grid.

You click “Configure” and you’re presented with various options for the aircraft including Liveries.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to show the livery has changed in the interface, nor does it actually change the livery. I’m still in the aerial advertising livery, even though I selected the official one.

You can see here that I have Official checked, but the model still shows the aerial advertising livery. When I loaded into the aircraft I was still in the aerial advertising livery.

So, as of now, on launch day, I cannot change the livery for the default and most iconic aircraft in the sim.

Am I supposed to make a comment about this? I really have no words.

EDIT:

I selected a totally different aircraft and was able to successfully change its livery.

I deselected the 172 and it now shows it in the Official livery.

Bugs…

As of tonight, no liveries on AI aircraft either. What is going on? This feels like MSFS 2020 alpha.

I know there is a lot to get fixed but at some point, the way the liveries and aircraft are organized needs to be looked at. Right now, I am seeing different aircraft organized as liveries and some different liveries are organized as different variants. For example, (and far from the only) if you look under the liveries of the Fox Moth from Flight Replicas you will find the Flight Replicas PA-11. Again, this is just an example, and you will find this issue everywhere. I swear I am missing a lot of aircraft, but it makes me wonder if they are really just in hiding somewhere. And not to beat a dead horse, it makes you wonder if this thing was tested at all and if so, what were they looking at?
