Hi there, How would I view the Landing gears, I’d like to see the landing gear go up and down? And also watch the landing gear goes down before I land the plane, Airliner or jet. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
use the external view or the drone camera to get that view. You can pause the sim to give yourself the time to set the camera where you want it.
Look up on Youtube for vids on how to use the drone cameras - there are simple ‘quick tutorials’ on the basics as well as some deep dives into how to best use this simulations’ primary function
Thanks @FusionHorse151 for the help and information…
the basics of the drone camera are just that - basic. If you haven’t changed any default keys you can just press the ‘insert’ key to get the external drone view of your plane. press ‘R’ to raise the camera (drone) press ‘F’ to make the drone ‘Fall’ or lower the camera view. Then use W A S D to control forward, reverse, and left/right lateral movements.
to rotate the camera (drone) in place just use the numpad keys ‘6’ to rotate right and ‘3’ to rotate left - the other obvious keys on the numpad can tilt the camera -
Press ‘insert’ key again to return to the cockpit…
Set that location as a custom camera, and you can switch to it with a button press.
You don’t need to use the Drone Camera first. Try the fixed camera instead.
You can switch to the Drone Camera using the key that was bound to switch to drone camera. Then press the same key that you used to switch between Cockpit and External Cam. Using this key in the Showcase/Drone cam mode, will make you switch between Drone or Fixed Cam mode.
Then use the keybound command of “Previous/Next Fixed Camera” to cycle through the many fixed camera points in the aircraft. One of them is generally the Landing Gear.
So when your Fixed cam is currently in the Landing Gear position, you can use the Switch to Drone Cam button to switch between your Cockpit view and your landing gear view instantly. It’s a lot easier than moving drone camera manually and positioning it yourself.
But I’m only saying based on my experience with the A320. Each aircraft have their own set of Fixed Camera points, and they may or may not have their landing gear as a fixed camera view.
which is why I gave him the basics of the drone cam…but everything here is helpful
From the regular external view, ctrl+shift+3, ctrl+shift+4 and ctrl+shift+9 give you views of the landing gear.
(In the Bonanza, not sure if it carries over, but you can try all 10)
You’ll need the num lock key to be active for the numpad keys to affect the drone camera.
