I just tried Sayintentions for a couple of minutes. And it has some potential.
And as I always use FSLTL as AI traffic injector, does somebody have experience if Sayintentions is aware of the FSLTL traffic? So that it never lets you land on a runway were AI traffic is present? Or so that it never lets you take of if an AI traffic plane is currently landing there. Or so that it never lets you cross a runway if that is not possible. Or so that perhaps, it even commands you to stop and give way to an AI traffic plane of FSLTL?
So does anybody have experience how Sayintentions and FSLTL are working together? Is that working great? Or not at all currently?
Sayintentions has no traffic injection feature and you can´t listen to the AI traffic comms either, only to other player´s comms or the generic canned messages. Native traffic management (as in Beyond ATC case) is a planned feature as far as I understood.
For the time being you must use the simulator native traffic or an external solution like FSLTL injector for generating traffic when using Saytintentions and currently Sayintentions will take it into account for traffic proximity warnings only. So FSLTL works as it´s just standalone in this use case.
So that means it will just clear you from a runway that an AI plane of FSLTL is currently using right? So you have to be careful of that yourself.
Only in the air you will get warnings like “traffic 6 miles on 12 o’clock” or something like that.
Is this what you mean?
Hopefully in the future it will gets its own integrated AI like BATC, then it could be better, because it has VFR already, and you can determine your own runway, SID, STAR, etc., and you can’t in BATC. That is what I like in Sayintentions, also I like the voices more then BATC for now.
It´s not aware of any traffic intentions, so I´m not sure about runway traffic management. Maybe that one works, but overall you don´t get any AI traffic info other than the proximity advisories. Maybe that also applies for the ground traffic case but I never got any ground nor air traffic info so far, only a few proximity warnings while airborne.
Anyway I started using both BATC and Sayintentions recently and just got the 1 month option to test the later. Currently I only use it for VFR till that´s implemented in BATC. If other users who have used it for a longer period can reply that would be better.
Right now SI is somewhat limit with respect to other traffic. I believe the devs are/will be working on handling traffic for the future but I no do believe it is a simple task.
I guess it really depends on where you like to fly. For me I tend to fly GA’s and helicopters and generally do not fly into and out of major hubs with high levels of traffic. For me the added immersion of SI works really well and while it would be great if it did interact/control AI traffic it is not a major problem to me. That said I can see the flip side for those you like to fly tube liners in and around traffic. VATSIM is probably the better option for this.
