Edit 2: Game is working perfectly fine now. Few minor bugs, and sound didn’t work. Wiping cache did the trick. Progressed 8 hours in to career mode now.
Edit: This worked before they applied the login que. It’s not relevant anymore now. Simply restarting the game is still the only option though if you’re experiencing issues. The login que does work though, in worst case it took 90 minutes for me to connect. Patience is the only thing we can have now.
Hey there, thought i’d share how i finally got to flying. I’m on Xbox Series X with a 4gbs connection. I couldn’t get in to the world and actually fly, but restarting my console and restarting the game several times did the trick.
When i started career and chose my airport, it didn’t load all models and i couldn’t do anything. I then restarted the game and loaded career again, now more world models were loaded but couldn’t do anything again. After one more restart and loading career, it finally loaded all models and started the career mode, which got me to finally fly.

I cant even get past the customise identity screen without it freezing or ctd

Have you tried clearing the cache and restartig system?
Im on console im not sure how i do that
Try without clearing cache first. Press xbox button, and press the menu button (the 3 lines) on the MSFS 2024 game. Then choose to shut down the game. Then try to start it again. Each time you should get a little further until everything works. I think all this is a cache issue.

Cheers ill try that, so far ive tried about 5-6 times and it seems to crash at the customise identity screen. Looking at the forums it seems alot are having issues so reckon its probably gonna need a patch to fix
Otherwise look up how to clear cache on xbox, it’s quite easy and could do the trick.

Yeah they’ve enabled a que now. Perhaps midnight release was a better idea, to spread people logging on.
We can’t do anything about it. It’s indeed a cache issue, but with Microsoft. The fact more models loaded each time i restarted the game confirmed the symptoms of a cache issue. They’re working on it and have just released a video with devs explaining the issue:
Simply said, they’ve underestimated how many players would be playing during launch.
Same hare. CTD right after selecting my pilot avatar. I’m shutting it down for the night.

They knew very well that the 2024 version would gain significant popularity. This is about money. It’s not worth increasing traffic for just one day and incurring additional costs

Now after the dust has settled a bit at least I can login and start the sim, customize my identity. But I can’t load any flight: tried free flight, basic tutorial - I only see the waiting circle in the right corner, no blue loading bar. I checked the connection (down/up was 500/50 Mbit/s so should be fine).
They are having a bloody laugh. Time played 5.9 hours? I haven’t got past the map screen yet. constantly crashing as soon as I choose departure airport. Also managed to get achievement for completing 1st flight? how? I haven’t even seen a cockpit yet.
