How many VATSIM users are there that use MSFS 2020?

Hi there, I hope that I’m asking the proper question! Any help is greatly appreciated. TIA
Please chime in thanks.

A survey count might be a good feature, I don’t think you can count all of us individually. My impression is a lot of even the P3Dv5 holdouts finally called it quits when the PMDG 737 showed up.

Hi,

I recently became aware of Volanta and I now use it in conjunction with MSFS.

Volanta has a world map that displays things such as real-time weather, vatsim users, vatsim ATC coverage, other Volanta users, and it can track your in-game flight routes. Volanta can also show real world airport airline schedules (this last option appears when using the premium version).

On different days I was amazed to see over 1000 users on Vatsim, and you can even see their flight paths. I can’t quite recall whether it displays which flight program they’re using though, I will need to have another look.

I have no affiliation with Volanta, and I’m not currently using vatsim, I’m just a happy user of the product.

Cheers,

588 flights currently.

Count is top right however that is all platforms.

I’d think that the number has to be fairly large and growing, just based on MSFS marketshare. Now that PMDG, Fenix, and Leonardo have released their airliners, lots of holdouts are moving to MSFS. Plus, there are quite a few GA aircraft that are VatSim friendly–especially with the GT750Nxi and G1000Nxi Garmin mods available. I’m flying the Milviz Cessna 310 on VatSim right now…

If anyone has this data, it ought to be Navigraph.
Their annual Community Survey has Simulator Usage numbers (pg 58), and numbers for Online Network Preference (pg 57). Sadly no graph on simulator software usage per network…

I assume the distribution of Vatsim pilots will be somewhat similar to the numbers on page 58?

I do think that there is quite a substantial group flying MSFS, judging by the SimAware Stats Page. No way that many people are flying the 737-700 when the -800 is available for their platform!

One would expect serious growth now there are some decent airliners coming out. Most of the traffic on VATSIM/IVAO is airliners

When the PMDG 737 released VATSIM was light up like a Christmas tree with them. Same after the Fenix A320.

I suspect it will occur again once the 737-800 is launched.

No one can really tell, i guess, but would be interesting. Meanwhile i would say, the majority of vatsim users use MSFS.
