How prevalent is motion sickness for this game for a person who has it bad?

I have a question I get very bad motion sickness. If I spin in a chair 2 times I get sick and I can’t go on roller coasters. I just want to invest in a VR headset but I don’t know anyone who has one. Honestly, I don’t know if videos do justice either?

It’s hard to say. Too bad there isn’t a downloadable demo a person could try before they buy.

I had an old HTC EVO 3D that did 3d without any special glasses. I wonder what happened to that technology?

@REZZEPUNK
Even as a pilot I’m suffering extremely from motion sickness in VR.
Can’t do any aerobatics without getting seriously sick within minutes!

For sightseeing and IFR flying without wild maneuvers you should be fine.

Have you considered taking a motion sickness medication before hand? I know it’s not ideal, but it might do the trick. I have issues as well using VR for any more than an hour or two, it sucks, but there are also some useful youtube guides for certain VR sets to reduce the motion sickness-inducing options.

This will depend on where and what you are flying. Flying an Airbus on autopilot at 30,000 feet in “study level” mode is unlikely to cause motion sickness. Scud running at low level in the Grand Canyon or doing aerobatics in a PT17 Stearman just might though.

I strongly suspect TrackIR or VR would exaggerate any motion sickness. Even people who are not prone to motion sickness report issues initially until they get used to the VR.

oh WOW I never thought about that! THANK YOU!

ohhhhh Im a airbus guys so it shouldnt be a problem I think. Fighter jets might be a problem though.

Medication never worked for me when I was a child when travelling in cars.

So no aerobatics for me then. Thanks for your help!

Motion sickness shouldn’t be a factor when flying an A320 or even a TBM.

yeah I get motion sick if I read a book in the car…soooooo

I guess those planes would be a good choice for me.

I loved VR in DCS. Even with a fighter you can easily keep your flight motion sickness free if you maneuver accordingly.

Your body wil very quickly show you what not to do with your aircraft in VR and what the limits are

The immersion is absolutely great. I would try it in any case.

That ending made my laugh so hard out loud that my brother asked if I was okay. but I guess I need to get a VR.

Have a look at Trackir pro 5

Definitely. Especially if your not flying aircraft IRL, it’s superb.

I’ll have to check that out it also says this is the first time you posted welcome to the community

Track IR isn’t even remotely comparable. Still the flat cockpit.

I never got used to the fact that I had to turn my head, but still had to keep my eyes glued to the monitor.

Thank you Sir

Yeah, I cant fly an aircraft IRL anyway because I’m colorblind. We might be seeing something completely different. But its fun regardless. btw the colorblind part im legit serious lol
