I ran out of fuel in Patagonia and managed to set down safely on a highway but not enough fuel to get back to an airport. How can I restart this trip?
I tried crashing etc etc and still start back on the highway with no fuel???/
Ctrl-R will refuel your tanks.
I would just refuel using inflight toolbar, call Highway Patrol to clear and block the highway so you can takeoff. But first, don’t forget to file your NASA safety form as the FAA will probably be contacting you as well.
In a bush Mission you cannot refuel from the toolbar. Hopefully the editors can provide a method to restart the bush Mission over again.
Why such an angry response? The first answer and the first part of the second suggested a solution, and the rest was clearly just a joke.
And ironically or not, that very thing happened in real life just a few days ago in Knoxville, Tennessee a few miles from KTYS when a Cessna had to land on a stretch of interstate highway after running out of fuel. Once it was fueled up, police blocked the road for awhile to let the plane take off. And yes, there will certainly be some FAA paperwork involved, lol.
This was in Patagonia at the end of South America!!!
So? It was clearly a light-hearted joke. You had already been given the answer (CTRL-R).
You are correct it was a joke and unfortunately I responded inappropriately.
However Crtl-R does not refill the fuel tanks in a Bush Mission, only in a specifically selected mission and then you should be in a correct plane parking area on a real airport and request a fuel fill.
You will need to create a keybind for Repair and Refuel.
Restart the leg, and before taking off or while in flight, make the keybind and use it.
This is currently the ONLY way to refuel in these bush trips.
its almost as if they created the bush trips while having unlimited fuel and disabled refueling at any airstrip that has the capability to refuel.
Great Advice, I was able to refuel and get back on the track.
Key binding the Repair and Refuel was the answer.
Good to know, thanks Overladen
