This is a big problem for me when flying the Daher TB930. I’m sure it would be an issue with the airliners as well but I’ve not gotten into them yet. Using the standard mapped throttle buttons on my game controller which is A = Throttle Up, B = Throttle Down I have a very difficult time when landing, trying to taxi around or park and end up chasing the throttle up and down like a madman.
Punching A then B then A again and, well you get the idea. When in external view the display is much easier to see and feather but in cockpit I simply can’t control those reversers. Any thoughts on how I might overcome this?
Also, I plan to purchase the Bravo TQ whenever they become available. I did just order the Alpha Yoke but the BTQ is sold out.
On the Xbox controller, going to minimum throttle is not the same as pressing keyboard F1. It goes past idle into reverse thrust/beta. I also find it difficult to to hit idle on the landing flare without reverse thrusting while still airborne. It’s too awkward to hit F1 on the keyboard while controlling aileron-elevator with my left thumb. It would work if while airborne the throttle would go to idle, then activate reverse after the wheels are on the runway.
I mapped A + B to go to idle. Hit both together, all power comes off then you can tap A to get back on it if needs be, or hold B to go full reverse when the time is right
This feature (Throttle to 0 with A+B) is so useful on Xbox controller, that I think it would be wise to propose to add it to default Xbox controller mapping
