How to cast (Chromecast) from Quest 2 to a TV?

I love flying in VR with the Quest 2 and would like to share what I am seeing with my spouse. I fly using the Quest 2 headset with the Oculus app on my PC. My headset is connected to my computer with a cable.

Using Chromecast, I can cast my computer monitor screen to a TV, but that only shows the action in two small windows and is certainly not what I am seeing in VR. Can anyone provide detailed instructions on how to cast from Quest 2 to a TV, if it is even possible? Any help that can be provided will certainly be appreciated.

UPDATE: Thanks to the help from unbeneva and DeltaFlyer44 I was able to get it working. Here is what I did:

First, I set up Google Chromecast on my TV using the Google Home app on my cell phone. Once I had Chromecast set up, I then opened the Oculus app on my PC. Next, I connected my Quest 2 to my PC with the Link cable. I then opened MSFS and got my flight set up and about to take off. In the Quest 2 headset I selected Share and then selected Cast. Quest 2 searched for and recognized my Chromecast, which I then selected in the headset. I then went into VR mode in MSFS using the Ctrl-Tab keys. At this point, my TV was displaying what I was seeing in my Quest 2 headset, so that anyone watching my TV would see exactly what I was seeing.

You can cast to your phone using the Oculus app. I haven’t tried it, but you may be able to then cast the phone to the TV.

Hi @MarxRobert

I fly with a Quest 2 and link cable. If I remember correctly, I think I’ve streamed once before to our TV in the living room, just over wifi.

I think I just used the cast function in the headset itself. I also enabled the little red dot to appear in my FOV so I knew I was broadcasting.

It’s been months though, so I’ll take a closer look again today/tomorrow to see if I can replicate what I did.

Cheers

Thanks, unbeneva, I’ll give that a try.

Thanks, DeltaFlyer44, let me know if you are able to replicate that.
