Hopefully this is the right category.
Hi,
Is there an option to get rid of this?
Regards
Sorry what am I looking at?
not 100% sure what you mean - but i have bound to my POV button for the camera to move left, right, up and down and avoid using turn left or right.
Not at sim at moment - so cant recall. Maybe something like move head up, down, move head to left, move right, move forward and move backward?
Exactly what are you trying to get rid of, is it the message in the MCDU?
Thanks all for your replies.
After I had posted this I found this other thread more than a year ago ā¦
This describes the annoying tilt or rolling camera in turns perfectly.
After more than a year I wonder that there is still no option to deactivate this unrealistic behavior of camera views.
I think you can do it by turning on āhome cockpitā view in the options?
This DEACTIVATES all custom cameras.
Yup.
You can only have one or the otherā¦
Microsoft did this in FSX as well. Itās annoying as heck to look down at the center console while turning because the artificial head movement interferes with setting a frequency, as an example. This is just plain arcade game stuff and is nonsense. I havenāt played with the [DynamicHeadMovement] section parameters in the ā¦\LocalCache\FlightSimulator.CFG, but in FSX/P3D setting those values to all zeros would remove the arcade game effect. Iām going to give that a try.
As the plane makes a turn, the camera view will tilt accordingly.
Maybe donāt do that? My flight instructor punches me in the leg if I look down at something while turning. Itās a good way to screw up your inner ear and cause sensory illusions.
Sounds like a good instructor; however, after a few thousand hours of flying one can become acclimated to the āleansā as Iāve heard AF pilots call it. Hand flying in a cloud keeping your head straight up will also trigger the leans, itās just part of flying. Reminds me of a joke that Taylor (if I recall correctly) shared in his book āInstrument Flying.ā Everyone knows cats always land on their feet so the cat must always know which way is up or down. Take a cat with you in the cockpit when instrument flying and fly using this ācat horizon.ā
