I am certified for “light cargo” missions, but I don’t see any of them on the map… either locally or any of the “golden” missions on the map.
How do I get these “light cargo” missions?

I also searched for a long time. And then I found what I was looking for in Madagascar.

I did the Madagascar mission, but still as a Freelancer, I don’t find any cargo missions on the map. I can only create a company for flightseeing, but no cargo, although I have a 172. Not sure what I’m missing to progress

In order to create the Cargo Company, you have to have 35,000 credits in the bank, 10 to buy the company, and 25 to buy the Cessna 172 Skyhawk. Granted, that’s only if you haven’t taken the discount for the first plane.
Also, I think each plane you buy can only be attached to one company.
BUMP… I’m having the same problem as you. What did you do to resolve this?
Check your specialization list and make sure that Cargo Transport - Light has all the prerequisites checked off.
I also found the only cargo mission available in Madagascar… after doing that one, others became available in the area where I usually fly
I did the first cargo mission as an employee (the one in Madagascar) and now I see many others available (always as an employee); if you then have the specialization, after 5 light cargo missions the medium ones should become available, to be done with the 208 grand caravan; I have not yet created a cargo company, but before creating it I would like to already have the qualification for medium loads
