How to Enjoy Career Mode

I am using Career Mode now and then. It has certainly improved a lot over time and I think it is actually fun to fly now.

And yet, while I understand their approach of allowing only “certified” planes and “forcing” you to use in-build ATC in order to measure your performance inside the sim, for me personal, it´s almost a bit too dedicated. Those limitations are ok when you want the full scope including the building of a company, unlocking, buying, selling, maintaining planes, aquiring licenses and skill pointrs, hiring AI pilots and so on.

But especially for quick jobs as employee, for me personally, it really would be enough to load into the sim with a plane and airport of your choosing and f.e. add a tab next to Airport Activity like “Pending Jobs”, which would just show you random missions for the selected plane/location.

Just give me a start, a destination, a briefing of what is expected, the amount of cargo/pax if required and then leave it up to me, how to bring it there. They could still measure how long you need to get there, if you fly carefully / within the limits of the missiong requirements, your landing rate and so on, but leave flight planning, ATC up to me as a pilot. Quick and dirty, basically what third party apps like OnAir or Neofly offer as freelancer mission.

And I would also like to have an option in free flight to choose (or even “own”) a plane subject to wear and tear over time. These are two of those things I really like in Career Mode and which I would love to see added to Free Flight Mode similar to what you can get f.e. with Black Square of A2A planes.

did you manage to actually make money with passive income? cause i’m pretty sure that whatever you make, it then gets regularly wiped away with maintenance, and you end up back where you started

Friend of my, he has 216 Beluga’s in his fleet haha.. He get’s like 9-10 billion passive income. He flies 16hours flight on autopilot and comes back later.

I do skip flights, but I also do long 16hour flights, but I use sim rate when doing long flights, auto pilot and sim rate.. You only get a lot of XP , not Credits., the difference between credits skipping and flying is minimal., so the only thing is you get a lot of XP when not skipping and only use sim rate. My higehst was like 23 million XP without skipping.. Level 632 now, but no use, you just need level 99.

No, I am not really that much into the grinding part to make money. I only use it now and then on the side line, have a small cargo company with just the starter 172. I fly airline schedules or random GA flights in free flight mode most of the time. Or use OnAir for missions and company flying for which I still have a running sub until next year.
