Asobo is known for breaking stuff with every update .So how to export my settings? I already read that players lost them all, for me it will take hours to do that …
Currently, there is no way to do that.
Controls settings >
AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\SystemAppData\wgs
They are in that folder, for sure.
So is a lot of other data you do not want to put back in the sim after an update.
If you do that route, examine the content of the folders with notepad or similar.
Some will have just junk on them.
Don’t touch those.
There will probably be several folders in there with controller info on them.
You can save those, but if you replace those later, and they differ from some changes made by ASOBO, it can cause a CTD.
There is no foolproof way to export settings.
So far I have not had that issue with any upgrade including the latest. I would be very upset if I did as setting up controls in FS is a terribly frustrating experience IMO.
I haven’t had any issue with MSFS wiping out all my control settings after an update.
I don’t back them up!
Occasionally, I have had the odd setting changed, but other than that, no problems.
I have seen very few posts here (although there have been the odd one or two, not many before this update) on the issue, so it isn’t a widespread problem that everyone needs to be wary of.
After the last patch my airplane`s rudder wanders off centre…even in auto pilot the plane flies crooked and the exterior camera shows the rudder off centre…I can not centre the rudder…this did not happen before the patch. don’t these guys try out their updates?
After just doing a new install,(new mobo/cpu/windows)
The sim settings (General & Assistance) are set back to original, however the Controls section is maintained as you had it, with all of your custom mapping and controllers intact. Cloud storage.
Same experience as above posts for updates, only a couple of key changes that they didn’t mention in install notes. No biggy, but they should note it when changing.
Different subject from this thread but probably your controller not the sim.
Recalibrate rudder in windows and be sure to have a dead zone 5-10% in msfs settings. Start with 5% and adjust as needed.
