I think we can all agree that the interface for loading passengers is really janky right now. I’ve done a bit of trial and error and have figured out how to get the 3D models to spawn into the player aircraft from a cold&dark start. As far as I can tell, here’s the minimal steps needed:
- Pick a starting spot that’s not RAMP GA SMALL or FUEL BOX. RAMP GA MEDIUM, RAMP GA LARGE, RAMP CARGO, GATE SMALL, GATE MEDIUM, GATE LARGE all work fine. Some airports have nothing but RAMP GA SMALL so you’re SOL at those ones.
- Start flight
- Enter the plane.
- Turn on electrical systems to where radios at least work.
- Go to the communication menu.
- Is there a ground services option? If not, you’re out of luck at this airport.
- In the comms menu, Click ground services then the option to tune the frequency
- Click request passengers boarding start.
- No need to wait for anything to happen – click request passengers boarding stop. (you should see yourself telling ATC “I am done with the boarding”)
- Go to your EFB
- Choose aircraft at the bottom
- Choose flight performances
- Mass and balance
- In the diagram of your plane, one by one, select the seats and assign a weight (180 lbs works)
- Click load in aircraft
- They should spawn in!
Let’s all hope this becomes a bit less janky in future releases…
