Often when going into VR the Steam window shows, the controllers don’t interact with it, only the headset “dot” is visible, so I can’t close the window to start flying in VR. FS in VR is behind the Steam window.
Can anyone offer a solution or is there a way to activate the headset “dot”?
That’s the steamvr dashboard. You can easily toggle that on and off. Toggling it off will close that window. Here’s 2 ways.
- in the steamvr settings go to the “Dashboard” tab and enable “VR Dashboard on System Button”. Then you can use the system button on your controller to toggle the dashboard on/off.
- You can bind a button from another device to toggle the dashboard. I usually don’t turn my VR controller on for MSFS but I have a gamepad connected so I bound a gampad button to toggle the dashboard. You just have to go into the controller bindings settings, make sure your device is the active device, then select the “VR Dashboard” app and edit its bindings. You’ll find the “Toggle Dashboard” action under the “System Actions” section and just add that action to a button.

With my Index controllers I just hit the small menu/system button and it disappears.
