I am mystified. In Content Manager I am told that a number of items that are installed on my PC - some airports, some instruments - have updates available. I can select these, in which case a big tick appears on the item. But there is nothing apparent which I can then click to initiate the download and install the update. And although I have a constant notification that downloads have started in the background, there is no evidence that such downloading is going on, or has gone on.
I would for example like to update my G1000 Nxi but though there is an update notified, download and installation does not happen automatically when I select it, and I can see no way of triggering this.
Can anyone point me at whatever it is that I am failing to see, please?
Both Steam and Marketplace installs need a functional Gaming Services and XBox apps installation.
I would first try resetting Gaming Services and Xbox from the Windows Apps and Features menu.
There is a prompt in each for Advanced Options, the reset buttons are in there.
Restart the PC and sign back into them when you are done.
You can also try signing out of Steam, then restart the PC and sign back in, and then try the sim.
If these don’t help, you can try removing the files involved from the MSFS Official-OneStore folder (don’t delete them, cut and paste them somewhere else, just in case) then start the sim and see if it will reinstall these.
It should.
If all the above fail, you can also enter a Zendesk “Submit a Request” from the “Support” menu at the top of any forum page.
Bear in mind it can take up to a week for them to reply at times.
Let us know if you are still having issues after all this!
little note:
Steam still not need Gaming Services, but of course the Xbox app to login.
Also in windows 11 are Gameing Services not necessarly needed to install ( also if these xbox app annoying with the message )
@PilotOccifer
The content , e.g. the mentioned G1000, will be updated within the in-game Content Manager and initial installed over the marketplace. One time installed, it also notify about existing updates. I can currently not give screenshots and only mentione what I have in mind: open the content manager ( or click on the notification icon if there is a update-message ) , then you should see the packages for which update exist. Choose select all and then “install”.
