How to install MSFS 2024 on DATA (D) drive?

Hi everyone,

I was trying to install MSFS2024 on my DATA (D) drive because I only have 30gb on my C drive compared to 76gb on the D. I tried via the MS store and later via the Xbox app and none allowed me to install the sim on my DATA (D) drive. None of both would allow me to select a folder to install it.

I went into MS store and Xbox app config to change the download directory from C to D drive, yet nothing happened. I even change it on my computer settings and again, nothing happened.

Does anyone have any solutions or is it impossible to install it there?

Don’t know how MS Store version works, I am on Steam.
It installed core sim on my “game” drive, some data on C drive. On C it puts by default community and official folders, same as rolling cache.
What I did, I changed rolling cache in sim settings.
In sim folder on C disk, can’t remember name of the file (not near PC right now), but extension is .opt, open it with Notepad. Last line is address of community and official folder, make folder on your DATA disk and copy address of that folder, replace last line in that file and there you go.
