Now that I can finally play, I’m trying to learn the controls with my Hotas. But during the instructions, the game only shows me the keyboard bindings. Is there some setting that I can’t find to change the shown buttons to my preferred method of control? Otherwise, this isn’t really helpful for me to learn the controls.

Is there really no option for this? That seems pretty inexplicable to me, because it’s something so fundamental that someone must have noticed it at some point. Or did all the Q&A testers only play the game with mouse and keyboard?

I’m currently messing about with that as well.
It means it’s taking me ages to do anything as every time it tells me to do something with an onscreen prompt for m/k I need to go into the control settings to find out what the equivalent is on my hotas.
Seems daft that you can’t set the preferred controls for General and Airplanes and have the prompts show up accordingly but I’ve not managed to find and option for it.
As I’m messing about with this I’ve found that if you delete the current key binding then it’ll give you the equivalent binding for the newly mapped one on screen e.g. delete W as walk forward when outside the airplane and map it to the joystick and it’ll give you a prompt for the joystick instead.
Not ideal as I still want to have the keyboard available as well when I’m out of VR mode.
I could maybe create a blank keyboard profile, map all the hotas controls as I need them and then reselect the default keyboard profile once done but obviously it’ll then revert back to the original prompts.
Doh! Don’t clear all keyboard bindings or you can’t get back to the menu.

Yeah, I was afraid that deleting the keyboard bindings would lead to lot additional problems.
We have the option to set a specific controller as default, but what does that do? At least it should show me in game the promts for my default controller.
