When I click the end of the Range/Pan knob, a small arrow appears on the Navigation map but I don’t know how to make the map move from that point. Would appreciate knowing what to do next. New to MSFS 2024 and slightly lost but studying videos and articles every day.
I don’t think you can pan the navigation map around. But you can pan the charts with the range knob.
You don’t mention which plane or avionics system you are trying this on, but as an example, I think with the G1000, after you click the range/pan button, you should get four directional arrows when you hover your mouse pointer over the different sides of the knob. If you click and hold, the pointer on the MFD screen will move, and when it gets close to the edge of the visible map, it will start panning in that direction.
BigCow74 - Thanks for your response. I tried your advice on the G1000 in the Cessna 172 Skyhawk. I still saw only one arrow but using the hold and click method you suggested, I was able to pan in all directions. A big help!
