How to prevent screensaver or monitor closing on a long flight?

I was doing a long haul in a jet and left the AP on while I went and had dinner. When I came back my screensaver was on and the Sim had paused itself. How do I prevent that just for MSFS 2020 and nothing else? I don’t want to turn the screensaver off entirely.

shouldn’t happen when the flight sim is the active window.

Hmm, maybe that was it. I have charts on another monitor and maybe they had the focus? I have Flight Sim running on the “main screen” in full screen mode and was surprised to find my monitor had switched itself off when I came back from dinner.

I have the similar problem, although mine is even a little bit worse!

Screensaver activates itself after a 5 minutes from the last touch of the keyboard or mouse, in the middle of the flight, although my hands are both on the joystick/throttle and feet on rudder!

It looks like the system completely ignores the FS2020 itself and the active input from USB peripherals altogether!

This is just insane!

I can`t decide which is worse bug collection - the FS, or the Windows 10.

Whats even crazier, Win10 refuses to turn off my monitor and engage screensaver at regular times, with Office applications and even clear desktop with no running apps, when Im off the desk and the d**n thing should preserve the display from burning in!

This is the permanent issue for me, from the first days of Win10!

FS 2020 obviously solved the problem by finally unlocking non-functioning power management options, but it looks like that the system now completely ignores a running simulator, with me at commands!

If I close the FS2020, everything “work” as usual - screensaver don’t come on and display refuses to turn itself off.

Unelievable!

Could try going into windows power plan advanced options then display and increase the time before screen turns off.

Of course. That one work, but I’m confused how the system just ignores running application AND user input, engaging the screensaver like the whole thing is idling for hours!

What options are you referring to there?

I have screen saver set to “None” and advanced power options set as follows:

Turn off display after: 10 minutes
Allow display required policy: Yes

My screen doesn’t turn off while I’m playing the sim.
