For various problems I have created a local user with admin rights.
With this local user I can’t find a way to launch MSFS.
It says that it have to install some kind of packages but then it show a popup tat it is not able to install.
Any idea ?
What is wanting to install “packages”, Windows?
What packages does “it” want to install?
Maybe a screen snip of the pop-up?
This just sounds like a permissions issue but I am suspicious of these packages.
What were the “various problems” that prompted the change. Did you not have a user account to begin with?
My “various problems” in my main account is this:
run msfs → ok
run Ivao Pilot Core → ok
run Ivao Pilot Client → ok … after 2-10 minutes it closes itself
in the eventviewer the Ivao crash is caused by
C:\WINDOWS\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\nv_dispi.inf_amd64_19c79fb6254e3b11\nvoglv64.dll
I am in conctact with the nVidia customer care, they suggested me many tests but unfortunately the problem is not solved yet.
They are very cooperative.
the last suggestion received from them is to create a new temporary Windows user account with admin rights and check if problem occurs in the new account.
But in the new account running msfs from start menu - apps -
show this
that means Microsoft Store Package Dependency Installer
pressing OK
You need to run it with the user that bought it from the store. If you could run it as a local or any other user then you could just as well copy it to a pendrive and give to a friend.
I was hoping to solve my problem
Did you try uninstalling the driver using DDU and installing from scratch? Does it work in other resource intensive games / benchmarks? Is your windows up to date? Is your PSU capable of handling the GPU?
I always use local accounts for privacy reasons. Last August I had first bought MSFS from the MS store. When I noticed, that it wanted to force me to log in to windows with a microsoft account to be able to install it I immediately got a refund and bought it on steam where installation works with a local account.
Recently I found out that I can’t do anything with multiplayer “groups”. There is the suspicion that it might have something to do with using a local account.
Uninstall with DDU and install nVidia drivers it ws the first attempt.
Benchmark ok and no other program have problem.
