How to safely remove the co-pilot model? It's a meaningless body

I fly in virtual reality in career mode and I really like it. But there is one problem.: It’s an annoying body in the copilot’s seat that does nothing, but is present as ballast.

How to remove it? Remove the avatar.

  1. I have disabled everything in my personal settings. I mean, I removed the image of the co-pilot’s avatar in the personal settings in the upper-right corner.
  2. In the EFB tablet, this can be done for some aircraft, for example, for Cessna Citation Longitude, and I constantly disable it by editing the aircraft load. I recently bought a Pilatus PC-24 and I fly in the cargo version. I can’t turn it off that way there.
  3. …..

Is there any way to disable it by editing the game files? Aircraft files?

If I’m playing on the screen in 2D mode, I don’t pay much attention to this creature, but in VR mode it’s a completely different matter.

I kindly ask for your help!

Thanks a lot!

Not near the sim so I can’t grab screenshots, but if you make your way to the place where you customize your own avatar, you can also customize the appearance of your copilot - and the first option is a blank tile. Choose that and no visible copilot will appear, even when weight is loaded into that seat.

You may also be able to hide them by turning Characters Quantity to Off in graphics settings or by, as you’ve noted, removing the weight from the copilot seat in the EFB (I have not had issues doing this in the PC-24).

You haven’t read my post. I’ve tried it all several times. It doesn’t work!!!

I have read your post and at no point did it mention you tweaking the appearance of the copilot avatar. Can you share a screenshot of your copilot avatar appearance customization screen?

Yes, of course, please:

And the other way doesn’t work either:

I did see in a different Thread or Forum that the Co-Pilot is mandatory in Career mode.
One of these “why?” situations regarding career mode.

Maybe try to open the door during flight  But I guess this will also not help.

Ah yes, good point - is the OP referring to Free Flight or Career mode flying?

I did not “see” this as well at the first time.

Be right back, booking an appointment with an optometrist now - thank you!

So yes, the answer is this is not possible by design - in most cases, these are aircraft which are not certified for single pilot operations, so it is intended to be a realism requirement.

Okay, I understand that a co-pilot is needed from the point of view of realism (this is what the game is about), but if we could interact with him, talk, he would follow our orders… If it were interactive, it would be a completely different matter. I would even turn a blind eye to a crooked model with hair falling out!

In other words, no one knows how to “tweak” the necessary files?

Sadly.

Not sure since I do not use career mode anymore, in freeflght the co-pilot could manage the radio. At least some kind of crew managment.

This “realism requirement” would be a good argument for shared cockpit  Would open up a whole new world of engagement between Simmers. Maybe a kind of Lobby where you could hire/find a copilot.
With shared income at the end of the flight!

This is not possible by design. Same as non marketplace pruchases, even if the MP Version is capable to fly in career mode.
Or tweaking turbulence aso.

AFAIK all encrypted

I believe that the design of the game should not be put above the convenience and pleasure of the players. No matter how correct this design would be.

There is also the possibility of adding fuel directly in flight, or accelerating/decelerating the simulation speed.

So why not remove the annoying “living body” model?
Technically, it’s as simple as that.

The game should bring pleasure, not suffering!

I will not disagree with you on this. Unfortunally there are a countless number of issues you could add your last line. Sadly.
But on the positiv side, its not all bad.
There are fantastic 3rd party add-ons you can fly within the sim that do bring enjoyment, at least for me.

Can these add-ons remove the body of the co-pilot?

:joy: not in career mode. As I said I gave up on it.

Only recommendation I could give is to use your imagination. Model a old person and pretend he had a heart attack mid flight and is incapacitated.

This will be the next stage.
I’m currently looking for a technical solution.
