How to set autopilot reference altitude in hundreds? Seems it only works by thousand now

After this last update, when I use the increase autopilot reference altitude or decrease, it’s doing so by thousands only. I have these two commands mapped to steam deck buttons. Now when I press and hold them, to set altitude, it zooms way up and down, by thousands at a time. I can tap one at a time to at least slow it down…Is there any way to increase / decrease this so it increments by hundreds at a time? The in-game keyboard commands I’m using are “CTRL-Page Up” and “CTRL-Page Down”…

You might need to give a bit more detail on what aircraft and on which platform you’re referring to?

At least in the A320neo, there’s a switch just behind the altitude selector knob where you can click on it to switch between 100s or 1000s. Once that’s set, whenever you use the mouse scroll it will change according to which unit the switch is set to.

Yeah, I noticed this today, too. For the Beechcraft Bonanza I had mapped a scroll wheel of my joystick for increase/decrease AP reference altitude. Before the SU8 it changed the altitude in 100 ft increments, now it changes it in 1100 ft increments. In the cockpit you can also see that both parts of the altitude knob of the G1000 are turning (inner for 100ft and outer for 1000ft).
Looks like a new bug with SU8 - at least I haven’t found another key binding yet.

Push the Alt button. It shifts between 1000’s and 100’s.

I wonder if I can program that into the scroll wheel of my joystick. I’ll try. Thanks!

After the last update, I notice the increment is multiple hundreds and not always the same multiple. Very frustrating.

I have the same problem :
AP Increase or decrease altitude on keyboard (ctrl + pgup and ctrl + pgdown) does it by 2200 feet increment.
It works ok if I increment the altitude on the airplane knob (x100 feet)

Same issue here, with an ALT+ and ALT- button programmed into a wireless USB numpad. Used to work as expected before update.

Have the same problem since WU8, but only on the Milviz PC7. ALT increase/decrease using the keybouard is in 2200 ft steps for each key press. Before it worked fine…

Any ideas?

Noticed the exact same problem. To my knowledge, also, this is something Asobo broke with SimUpdate 8.

Extremely frustrating. On some planes, you can switch between 100s / 1000s steps with a button in the cockpit and apparently, the keyboard shortcut respects that. But in some planes, there is no such button and thus, keyboard-bound autopilot altitude control is simply broken and unusable.

I suggest moving this to the bug report forum so we can vote for it to be resolved.

@aloper5 is there already a bug thread or ZenDesk report for it? Or any other news you are aware of? Otherwise, I would open a thread in the bug forum.

I haven’t posted a bug report…I’ve just resorted to pushing the ALT knob, to toggle between hundreds and thousands for the altitude selection…

I believe, however, this workaround is not possible on all planes, is it?

On the Cessna 172 Skyhawk (G1000), AFAIK, the ALT knob cannot be pushed to switch between 100s and 1,000s; one can only turn it in the respective steps. So the keyboard shortcut keeps moving the altitude in crazy steps like +2,000 or so.

Is this fixed in SU9? Has anyone checked?

Just did a quick flight in the Longitude…Not fixed for me. But at least in the Long, I can toggle between hundreds and thousands by clicking on the ALT knob…

Has anyone found a way to restore the keyboard shortcuts back to hundred-step size?
This change kind of ruined my control scheme :-/
