How to share Flightplans folder in network

Hi there. I have purchased the Glasscockpitsoftware by project magenta. To run well it should be spread over network. Meaning one pc for the simulation and another pc for showing displays on separate monitors.

To do that the software needs to get access to the Flightplanfolder. But when I try to share the folder: c-User-appdata-local-packages-Microsoft flight simulator 8weky…- local state

I don’t have success because „local state“ is a shortcut.
I can’t figure out what is the real origin of that folder.
Can anyone help me?

have you contacted project magenta? I used their products years ago, and wasnt sure they were updated to work with fs2020.

Yes. I tried it. But I also take the chance to ask in some forums.

Are you sure that’s a shortcut?
That’s a location as far as I know.
It is however a “read only” folder, that may be your issue

That’s curious. That look way different than my folder:face_with_raised_eyebrow::weary:

If you do have a shortcut, it would have a shortcut tab at the top, next to “General”
It would then indicate where that folder is

It might be a link of some kind

Actually I try a reinstall. Maybe that solves something. By the way it’s the DVD/ Microsoft store version.

I would not recommend a reinstall. That can lead to all kinds of problems.
Can you post a picture of your flight plan folder properties such as posted above?

Thats how it looks on my pc

That’s strange, it does look like a shortcut. But in any case, right-click on the shortcut and select “open folder location”. The real location will open and you can get the real path from there.

Unfortunatly not. I don’t have that option when right clicking.

How about selecting “properties”? In the properties do you see a “target” or “URL” or “location”? Do you see something with any sort of path?

UPDATE:
Well never mind. I see somebody above already went through the properties dialog box with you. I guess you didn’t find anything useful in it.

I see you have “D” drive for your flight sim.
What you have is a split installation.
You may have selected a custom installation location.
Your settings file (which is the SystemAppData file) stores your sim settings.
The other files are symbolic links, they make the sim think the files are actually in one place. when they are really located in another.
You should be able to right click on the “LocalState” icon.
This will be shown.

That should lead you to the proper fle location.
