How to solve HP G2 Error 1-4 and cable error

Hello everyone,

If you finally got the Hp G2 but it doesn’t work, you got error 1-4 or cable error on windows mixed reality and you have an Asus prime X570p read me.

After many tries, formatting my pc and try to solve my issue I found that my mother board Asus doesn’t give the right amperage for letting turn on my Hp G2.

I found this isn’t a issue of my specific model but a few Asus motherboard have this error.

At the start i thought my reverb was broken but i connected it in my surface pro and the led of Hp turned on immediately so i have excluded that the hp g2 was broken.

So i bought this on Amazon:

After a few days a installed the PCI-e external usb in my pc and finally the HP G2 turned on!

REMEMBER! While you’re installing your Pci-e external usb DON’T forget to connect the power using a Sata cable coming from your Power supply or it wouldn’t work!

Please don’t forget to plug the power on G2 too or wouldn’t turn on too, and if you still have the problem try to push hard the connector cable on your VR headset g2.

And if doesn’t turn on just Uninstall the g2 on your devices (control panel), unplug the G2, then restart your pc and try again using different usb ports.

HP Reverb G2 error code 1-4

  1. all USB3 ports on my PC.
  2. all display ports on my graphics card.
  3. various AMD Radeon drivers (Recommended and Optional versions)
  4. uninstalling the Windows MR Portal.
  5. uninstalling the HP Reverb G2 from the Device Manager.
  6. uninstalling the Hololens Sensor from the Device Manager.
