How to start engines manually?

Hi everybody,

New to this forum and my first message  New to MSFS as well.

In the past, I used to fly FSX. It had a feature to start engines manually by selecting them one after te other (CTRL+E+1 or CTRL+E+2 if I remember well) and then hit CTRL+E to start the selected engine independently of the other(s).
Is this possible in MSFS and how to do it with keyboard shortcuts ?

Thanks in advance for a simple answer

Sorry if my English is not perfect : I am French and 76 years old !

Hello,

Welcome to the forums! Your English is great! Much better than my French, so you do not have to feel self-conscious. :slightly_smiling_face:

I don’t use this feature, but I do know that Ctrl+E does start the engines. I am not 100% sure of this, but I think it starts all engines if you have a multi-engine plane. I don’t know if Ctrl+E+1 or Ctrl+E+2 starts individual engines. Maybe someone else could answer this more clearly!

Hello N316TS,

Thanks for your answer, but I can confirm that Ctrl+E starts all engines, and that Ctrl+Shift+E stops them all.
My concern is to keep control and start them one after the others or start one and not the other(s) without having to go through the whole check list and controls in the cokpit.
Could even work the other way around : Stop one engine (and not the others) during a flight or takeoff, in order to simulate with simple keyboard shortcut an engine breakdown.

I think the easiest would be cutting off fuel in this case.
