How to tell if DFR is enabled?

Hi,

Bigscreen have just released the first Beta support for dynamic foveated rendering, for the Beyond 2 headset. I’ve installed it (had to enabled Beta version of Steam client too), and installed Quad Views Foveated.

How can I tell if DFR is enabled in MSFS 2024 though? I still only see a setting for ‘Foveated Rendering’. Should there also be a specific toggle for DFR now too?

thanks

Dan

I would recommend enabling the DLSS overlay. It will be visible twice in VR:

  • in the lower left corner of the entire image
  • in the lower left corner of the foveated region

With DFR working it will be easily visible if the overlay text in the foverted region is following the gaze.

The easiest way of enabling the DLSS overlay (without editing the registry) is with the DLSS Swapper tool - in the Settings go to:

Thank you, I will try that tonight!

DFR and FFR are implemented natively in MSFS2024, so I doubt if you need any additional tools like “QuadViews Foveated” (but my experience is limited to Pimax headsets only).

If you enable Foveated Rendering in MSFS2024 and your headset supports eye tracking/DFR you don’t need to enable anything more in MSFS2024 to switch from FFR to DFR.
