So finally I thought I’d do a really quick video on this, so many people say this is bugged, in fact its not bugged its as intended, but you need to spend time learning the aircraft to understand whats its expecting. Hopefully this helps people who are struggling

Excellent video on how to use the “autopilot” in the Classic DC-3. This is very much how @NixonRedgrave said it should work
Don’t see how this helps us with the Retrofit DC-3

It works the same way on the classic and retrofit models.
I have to admit that I don’t really use the Retrofit but had a quick play and could not easily see how to set a heading and how to tell the aircraft to bank in that direction
set the hydraulic lever forward and the autopilot switch on.
to set a course in the Gyropilot
- turn the knob in the middle of the degrees below the scale, remembering its in reverse to turning to the right will make the compass go to the left etc. NB. the dial in the middle at the top just turns the gauge light on and off. )
- once you have the desired course. (with the gyropilot on) then push the heading button in and that will activate the course change.
- To re-adjust the course just turn the bottom dial . Its a good practise to set your course before T/O so you wont have to fiddle around in flight.
shypunk, i dont use the retrofit either, i use the classic in conjunction with the free download of littlenavmap
my problem with the stock version was that the gyropilot was always disengaging, even in calm flight.
the duckworks mod fixed all that
