How to use the "Load/Save" Feature

I have tried to use the above without success. If I save a . FLT file of an aircraft ready to take-off with all electronics etc. up and running, and then load the same file, I get a “dark and cold” aircraft.
Windows 10 store version, PMDG 737.
Any suggestions will be welcome..

On Xbox, saves don’t load properly for me ever. The toolbar never reappears and the flight starts at the beginning regardless of when in the flight I saved.

I cannot edit any files, so save/load is pretty worthless for me right now.

Here’s how I deal with it:

Yeah, you did nought wrong. Your best bet as it stands is to do what I do: simply exit the flight. When you’re ready to resume, recreate the same flight, complete with flightplan, but with the departure where you left off. Click Fly and use slew mode to adjust your altitude, maybe Active Pause to make any other adjustments (fuel, time, weather), and away you go. Works for me.
