After flying lots of hours with the G2, i got the PC24. I bought it on the marketplace for 20-something bucks, then in career mode i bought it (6m credits or something) and added it to my VIP-charter company (with 3 G2’s and the starter Cesna stationed around the world).
The plane is now listed next to the other planes of the VIP-company.
However, every VIP-mission I’ve tried so far won’t allow me to select/transfer the PC24 to the take-off location. The other planes are there as expected, but not the PC24.
Based on other posts of players using the PC24 in career I must be missing something, but I can’t figure out what.
How can I start using the PC24 in career?
Have you done all golden employee missions related to Charter? Those are a requisite before you can assign missions of that type in a company.
Another factor is the size of the mssion. This is not easy to detect because the name is very similar. PAX mssions for smaller planes like the Cirrus go for about 200K. Missions for the PC-24 or the CJ4 begin at 800K and go up to 3 million in some cases.
There’s essentially two entirely different passenger missions tied to the same company, but they don’t use the same set of airplanes. There’s regular passenger charter, which starts with the 172, and then there’s VIP missions that require a fancy turboprop or jet (PC-24).
As I recall, you need to do at least 10 of the regular passenger charter missions just to unlock the VIP missions as a new specialization, and then complete the golden ticket mission (think it was in southern France).
Annoyingly, the mission map won’t allow you to filter the missions by type, so you’re best off having only one type of aircraft: regular charter or VIP. That way you’ll only see the missions that you have planes for. If you have both, you need to look carefully at the mission description to see which type it is, since you can’t use the other aircraft type.
Thanks! Yours (and others’) comments helped. I basically failed to realize there can be more than 1 specialization/unlock with a company. And I never looked back at the employee missions after starting to fly freelance, so I didn’t see the ‘golden’ unlock-missions.
Anyway, I did the PC12-flight last night and my whole map is now populated with (also) the long distance flights. Thanks!
PS. What is up with that PC12 plane? Feels like that thing is actively trying to kill me…
Taxi’s like a demon on a bed of hot coals - yeah got to use your brakes, set prop speed to 1500rpm and open up inertial separator - that sometimes helps a little! Otherwise it is generally a popular plane to fly.
