Forgive me if this has already been addressed, but how are you keeping track of add-ons such as scenery, airports, planes, mesh, etc? I suppose if you only purchase from a single source this is not a problem, but many of us purchase from multiple outlets (ORBX, Contrail, Inibuilds, Aerosoft, etc). Several are also selling either the same items or even the same airports from different developers. And many of us have hundreds of additions to our community folder.
Right now I am using an Excel spreadsheet that allows me to query what I have, where it was purchased, date, the developer, price paid, GSX profiles installed, preferred gates, etc. I have not used Addon Linker yet. I suppose it might serve this purpose? Thank you.
I use Google My Maps to place icons on map for my airport addons, including their type (small, regional, international, military, etc). There are many generic icons and colors you can use. You can export that layer to kmz format to import it in Littlenavmap later on, so you can easily track which addons are nearby when you plan your flights. That´s handy if you want to visit your addons frequently.
Anyway I also have a list to know what I purchased and at which store I did it, just in case.
Cheers
Add ons manager is perfect for this. You can set up a folder each for aircraft, airports, scenery, utilities, liveries and anything also that takes your fancy.
Yes add on linker is the best option. It lets you organise mods hierarchically in windows file manager and you can then enable/disable things or groups of things very simply before every sim session. You can even set up often used presets (mod groupings). It can also go look in different locations for files to catalog and index. A must have for people with lots of mods.
As for mod updates well there isn’t a universal solution for checking for those. Flightsim .to has a good system for the mods that they store there though.
