How you can bypass walkaround

Enable developer mode in settings/advanced

Load a flight

Open the Tools/Aircraft Selector menu

Reload the aircraft from that menu

Wait, (MSFS’s middle name) for it load

p.s. You may need to reposition the plane using slew controls.

Not a perfect solution, but I find the walk controls cumbersome.

So this morning as a test I started Dave Garwood’s Hawker Hunter in a parking spot at EGNS. After clicking on fly now, the avatar is outside the aircraft. Pressing “SHIFT + C” put me in the cold dark cockpit as would be normal. I haven’t tried it on other aircraft, and I don’t know if it will work on native FS2024 aircraft, but worth a go.

Tried on default jet and it didn’t remove the RBF tags and covers.

I think it only works on FS2020 models as they don’t have all the stuff to remove.

I started looking into this because I’m bored already of this poorly implemented feature. The click-spots are really hard to always get right.

Anyhow what I found was each aircraft has events/variables used to control the different items that need to be removed on each aircraft such as chocks, pitot cover etc. I plan to program a preflight button that will write to these and remove them with a single button push. It’s possible therefore that a mod could be produced that does this. The downside is each aircraft is different so you have to find what they used for each one. Once done though it will continue working unless they change them for any reason.
