ISSUE DESCRIPTION
Description of the issue:
[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?
Yes, clean install, no addons.
FREQUENCY OF ISSUE
How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?
Nearly every time I want to start flying in VR.
REPRODUCTION STEPS
Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:
- Start HTC Vive Pro 2: check that it is tracking
- Start FS2024 until main menu is active
- Switch to VR (locks sometimes up, or takes ages to activate, with black screen in the changeover period from normal view to VR
- Choose free flight
- Ready to fly, cockpit view: tracking problems, stuttering like hell
- SteamVR says: headset not tracking; can only be fixed by a reboot
- Playing other VR titles other than FS2024: no tracking problems
Several times uninstall/reinstall of all HTC Vive software, and SteamVR and Console for SteamVR, with reboots in between.
IMPORTANT:
On another PC I use the Quest 3; no problems whatsoever.
DIFFERENCE:
HTC Vive Pro 2 uses lighthouses for tracking, Quest 3 has its own tracking.
CONFIRMATION:
I bought a HTC Vive Focus Vision, installed it on the PC with problems (uninstalling all HTC software and SteamVR software first, cleanup registry with CCleaner, reboot, and then install HTC Vive Focus Vision.
RESULT:
NO PROBLEMS when flying FS2024 !!!
CONCLUSION:
FS2024 messes up the tracking of the HTC Vive Pro 2 completely!
