Development of our H145 is is moving ahead at a great pace, but we haven’t forgotten about our H135! A new update has just been released to Flightsim.to - if you haven’t already please leave us a 5 star review
Airbus H135 v1.4 changelog:
NEW ROTOR. Featuring: blade bending effects when at rest and under load in the air, trim tabs, updated blurred effects.
Rotor will now spin more smoothly in flight and slowly at max speed.
The pms50 GTN750 will now be automatically loaded on the lower 2 screens if installed.
Flight model: RBS (retreating blade stall, experienced when overspeeding) is now only on Advanced mode
Flight model: Increase pedal authority for Basic/Xbox flight modes
Flight model: Fixes for stuttering/bad performance
Flight model: Autorotation changes around looking at N2
following up to my own posting … something changed recently.
Either SU5 Hotfix 2 … or the 1.4x release of the H135 … but those extrem camera rides have either become hard to trigger, or this issue is resolved.
Maybe I also got better at “flying it” … but I doubt that, as I still do frequent “travel backwards” adjustments during the landing descent.
EDIT … 2021-08-16:
… I have to “retract” my positive impression described above. I guess I mainly changed my “landing habits”. I am still able to trigger the “camera goes circling” issue … it feels a little different, but still confusing.
Me too on spinning heli in external camera view for the H135. That’s what spoils it for me. Especially since it mixes up which direction I should move my controls to fly the heli. What I’d like to see for the HPG Airbus H135 and H145 camera views is a “straight-down” camera view. Perhaps that’s not available IRL inside the cockpit but at least they could have it as an external camera view (sorry if it’s there already and I just haven’t found it). That would certainly help me land as I could see exactly what I was descending on (and if I wasn’t spinning around at the same time!). @PharaohEo
One good work-around for me is to use one of the external cameras fixed to the aircraft … there is one sitting straight behind and above the H135. As it is fixed to the aircraft it does not go into a spin.
A second solution for me is to use the tail rotor only for very slow spins … it feels like those quick changes are the most likely cause of the external “follow-me” cam to get confused about where it wants to be. If I turn slowly it seems to have enough time (due to the lag with which it is tracking the aircraft) to maintain it rough position (e.g. behind the heli)
Open copilot door … click copilot seatbelt … gentle push? Sounds pretty drastic to me
But I agree … I am missing the “NONE” choice in the MSFS copilot selection options too. So far we only have “Default” and then a set of avatar choices. “NONE” would be a nice addition (or subtraction?)
I was in lock mode. But clicking on the seatbelt or copilot to make him appear or disappear only works in legacy mode. Problem is, the pilot seat is always empty, so without copilot the helo appears to be completely empty in external views.
Was on the group flight yesterday with the new 145s and some people said they would now ditch the 135.
Not me though - I will keep both. The 135 is an historic aircraft being the very first and really decent helicopter for MSFS and at least a year before they even start ‘proper’ rotary wing dynamics and whatever they release.
Download instructions result in program not being detected by Flt Sim apparently as install in C:\Users\mollo\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages results in install in ..\community\ hpg-airbus-h135_poDha\hpg-airbus-h135\ (multiple files/folders presumably the working files. Flight Sim doesn’t find the aircraft or wont load it
I have just downloaded the Airbus H-135 helicopter and it flies reasonably well. Will be fun exploring rooftops. Just landed on Sainsbury supermarket rooftop in Charlton, London. Not the same handling as the 'copters in FSX. It’s a free/payware item. I want to download a Spitfire next.
Just took my first flight in the H135 in VR (Reverb G2) at Bergen (on my way to an oil platform), and I was just blown away. This sim and this helo are just so amazing. At my age (with everything else in my life left boxed away in the past - metaphorically speaking) it’s a great feeling.
Just saying.
I bought the H145 and unfortunately I have two problems that I can not solve:
the helicopter has hiccups. This has the effect that it makes a small hop every 3-6 seconds, as if you were driving the car over a bump.
the cockpit view changes every now and then for a fraction of a second to the outside view and then back to the cockpit view. It’s just a little twitch, but really very annoying.
Do any of you have similar problems or an idea what it could be?
Hey. Yeah point 1 is definitely CPU hitting the limit and skipping frames. When the sim starts to run at speed again, the physics need to “catch up” and it causes this hop. You need to find a way to reduce load on your CPU. It is worse in the newer version for me (to the extent that I have had to stop using the 145 until I can get a better PC).
Point 2 may be related but I have not seen that (but as said, not really used it much recently!). Are you using head-tracking?
Do you use FS-Realistic? It sometimes happens that it switches to “First Person Mode” and back again. You have to delete the occupied button and reassign it, then everything should work again.
