I have unlimited fuel and can't turn it off

Under the Assistance options and aircraft systems, I have unlimited fuel set to OFF. But my fuel never decreased in flight for any aircraft. And if I set the ful to 50% using the sliders from the weight/balance icon on the inflight menu, the get reset to 100% automatically a few seconds later. I’ve tried setting the Unlimited Fuel option to On and still the same thing.

Anyone else have this issue? Is there some other place that overides this option?
Thanks

Hi, I have exactly the same issue and it is driving me up the walls. I did post about it earlier and hope someone would help.

I’ve had this problem since the released version. Guess some day I’ll uninstall everything & start over.

I can’t believe this is still going on. I had this problem quite a while ago, it seemed to go away, but now it is back. Really frustrating.

Yes. Haven’t tried the 747 for ages but I’m currently flying it from KLAX to LEBL and the fuel remains full no matter what I do. I have “unlimited fuel” turned off in the sim’s options (always had it set this way). Nothing I do changes this and is so frustrating.

Having said that, the ONLY aircraft that doesn’t do this is the FBW 320NEO

I have recently succumbed to same problem. Can anyone advise if this has a resolution?

I get something similar - but it may be my error.

When flying A320 - I use sim brief to do all my fuel calculations.

I flew Heathrow to Dublin - takes about an hour.

I stared with about 25% fuel, and at the end of the flight it went down to 23%.

Surely it would use more fuel than that?

Did you find the answer to your “unlimited fuel” issue?

I am flying the Black Square Baron 58P Analog version with MIP displayed via Air Manager.
The fuel gauges have been working perfectly for about 2 years. (I even accidentally ran out of fuel once!)
Now, however, the gauges both have their needles hard over beyond full and that’s where they stay.
I have checked the Options/Assists/Systems/Unlimited Fuel = OFF.
Has any one of you got the answer to this?

@DJW3592
Is this happening in free flight or only during one of the activities such as the Discovery flights?

Hello,

as we know, sim is sometimes in very strange temp behavior so in case this is observed, do restart of sim. To me not exactly this problem, never had fuel problems but with GNS530. Solution worked to me after 3 restarts of sim

@SmotheryVase665 it’s happening in free flight. Intriguing that it didn’t used to happen at all.

@OMICO4146 I would have had about 5 restarts so far. I noticed today that the virtual cockpit shows the gauges as empty while my Air Manager displays the gauges as over full. The aircraft runs perfectly.

eeeehm sry again to ask,

so you run now with no fuel situation exactly with engines off and AM shows +/- full tanks? If yes then AM problem maybe but it is depended again to sim. Other gauges on AM ok? You can do nothing looks like, temporary.

Well, that rules out managed flights - such as the discovery flights - as the cause for what you are seeing.

So, the next question is what has changed on your PC recently? Any addons added / upgraded / removed? Maybe one of them is now unintentionally causing this.

Also, some aircraft store data in the “…WpSystem\ a-long-GUID-name-here \AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\packages” folder

(The exact location of the folder depends on how you installed MSFS).

e.g., for the default A310-300, see the files in:
…WpSystem\ a-long-GUID-name-here- \AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\packages\microsoft-aircraft-a310-300\work\panelstates

I’m wondering (pure speculation here) if there is something in one of the files in that folder that has changed & is causing what you are seeing. As I don’t own the Black Square Baron 58P, there is no way for me to know.

Thanks.
I have read in someone’s post that they had a switch that they had programmed to “Repair and refuel” that was constantly firing of that command.
I have experienced that with some of my own switches (especially switches that trigger “Toggle” events).
Since I do have a switch set to “Repair and refuel” I will test it by deleting that binding.

Yes,
The “repair and refuel” binding mentioned in @DJW3592 's post can cause the system. I had the issue with unlimited fuel once and I think that was the solution for me. I had it bound to one of my switches on my bravo throttles. So check for that option in Controls first.

If that doesn’t work, I would try backing up a copy of the “fs-base-ui-pages” folder and deleting it from the OneStore. This folder contains the Assistance Options along with a number of other menu options. You must remove the entire folder to trigger MSFS to redownload it when the sim is starting up. If it doesn’t work you can restore the folder you backed up.

@TJTurner Yes, I too had a Bravo rocker switch assigned to “Repair and Refuel”.
My mistake was to have it assigned to the “ON” action as well as the “OFF” action.
So I’ve deleted the “OFF” one of those.
Now I can adjust the fuel quantity via the normal Weight & Balance UI in the sim and my fuel gauges do work properly now.
Issue is resolved.
Thanks for your help.
