I hope i'm in the right place FSUIPC7

I just installed the paid version of FSUIPC7 to work with the PDGM 737 and air manager panels. when I launch The FSUIPC app, the steam screen pops up and says error no license. I have realized that i downloaded msfs2020 from the microsoft store not steam. Is there a work around for dummies lol I have googled a lot of .dll fixes but above my paygrade. Hate to think i threw $20 away.

Where did you buy FSUIPC?

From the Pete and john Dowsons website

https://www.fsuipc.com/

When you installed it, did you register it?

yes. i received a message that it is active. when i launch, it displays the msfs splash screen then the steam windows comes up stating no license error which would be true since i downloaded msfs from MS

Here is what im trying to accomplish. I have downloaded the PMDG737 and the panels from ZIBO, air manger is current, panels iinstalled but no functionality with the panels. the panel download stated the fsuipc7 was needed.

What’s puzzling me is I don’t understand why that comes up, as far as I know, there is no difference for it.
It can be used in either Steam or MSStore versions of the sim.
Does the error message specifically say FSUIPC in it?

When you have the sim running, hit Alt F on your keyboard and see if it shows up.

Did you search for help on the FSUIPC forum?
FSUIPC7 MSFS - The simFlight Network Forums

the message is “an error has occurred while launching this game: NO license”

I have yet to try that one. I googled the issue and it brought me here and I already had an account, so I went for it lol

That doesn’t seem like it’s from FSUIPC.
That seems like a message for the sim itself.
Are you trying to run the sim in Steam?

no, I’m launching from the FSUIPC7 which had the auto launch enabled

i’m in the sim now, launched with msfs app and alt-f does nothing

i then tried to relaunch fsuipc and the same screen comes up. It’s like it is looking for a steam version of the game

Yes I don’t really know why.
Start the sim from the PC menu, FSUIPC should automatically start.
See if that works.
If it does use alt F to call it up.

alt-f does nothing. just looked at task manager, nothing, hmmm

Is the sim running?
I’m pretty sure that when you installed FSUIPC, for some reason it detected a Steam version of the sim.
If you can find the folder for FSUIPC, there is a file in it called FSUIPC7.log
In there at the top is the version of the sim FSUIPC detected.

Determing Community folder for Steam install
File C:\Users\laure\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\UserCfg.opt opened OK
Community folder is: D:\MSFS2020"\Community\

Did you have a steam version at any time?
It seems like the FSUIPC installer detected a Steam version of the sim.

honestly i dont remmeber. i do have a steam account though. should i remove the steam app?
