Last weekend, while flying a simple cargo transport mission, the runway had a defect that caused my plane to fall into a hole and break while taxiing. And according to the support team, there’s no way for me to recover it.
I did dozens of missions to buy my first plane, and I lost it on the very first mission due to a faulty terrain issue. Has anyone else experienced this and managed to find a fair solution?
Marco, have you looked in the maintenance section in your company. It should still be there but you probably need to repair it. This will activate your plane again but unfortunately you will need to pay the repairs and may need to grind more credits to do so. Your plane should have been insured, so should still be in your Company. As a beginner you can turn off damage to your plane which will in part protect it until you are more familiar with the games quirks and bugs - which are plentiful but it is still fun.
I have experienced it. I avoid taxiing over areas that look like they could be a problem. If I think a problem may arise I skip the taxi. I also think we should create a post of airports that do this. It can be updated when someone runs across a sink hole in a taxiway.
A topic in the forums that can be updated by users of the sim alerting other users of the sim of airport codes containing sink holes or other hindrances in taxiways.
Okay, I apologize, I wasn’t clear. I paid $400, and in the accident, I lost that $400. The plane is still there, but I owe the full amount for it again
You do get some but less - they hammer you in another area because of it, possibly reputation. Go to settings and do a search around because you can tweak all sorts of options you may prefer. Don’t loose heart, we all damage our planes at some point. It hurts more in the beginning when your credit value is low. It wont matter so much once you build it up.
Once you get enough credits for more planes, build them up to a few and the passive earnings will be valuable. Make sure you dont buy expensive planes at first they are expensive to repair.
Buy a cargo company and VIP company once you get the licences and specialisations. These pay the best. For cargo company use the C172 initially, the Draco if you like tail draggers but it is difficult to get the hang of. Then earn yourself a PC-12, it is an easy plane to fly and you can do medium length cargo and VIP missions with it. Obviously you would need to buy one for each company, they are not interchangable.
For VIP, get the Corvalis 400 and the Vision jet at first for the shorter missions. They are the most reasonable to repair and bring in a decent amount.
Then you build from there - so more cheap 172’s and draco and corvalis’s - as many as you can afford to maintain. Remember, they do not earn passive income if you have not kept them maintained.
