Here’s the fix, in case this hasn’t been found yet, or in case it has but you haven’t seen it yet.
Go to your MSFS24 root directory, which in my case is F:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Limitless.
You will see a Rolling Cache folder. Go inside and delete the one file you find in there, which will be the same size as whatever you set your rolling cache size.
On restarting the sim, you should find that MSFS24 has created a new rolling cache at the default 16GB capacity.
Nope that did not work for me. And in the future it would be better to provide the accurate name of the folders as there is no such a folder as Rolling Cache, it’s rather just “cache” and deleting it doesn’t change the 100 MB size in MSFS. At least it didn’t for me.
No, there is a folder called rolling cache. It’s possible you have moved yours, or if you’re an MS Store user it’s in a different location for you by default. I can’t help you find it in that case, I don’t have that version, although if you load the game and go to your internet settings, I believe the address for the rolling cache is also shown there.
just search all drives for *.ccc and delete all the ones you don’t want . MSFS will rebuild using the default size and location on its next start.
Just make sure you put it where you want it. And then repeat the above as it does not move the cache, it creates a new one and leaves the old one.
I had two at one point - deleting them with the sim NOT running works for now
Right, well where ever it is, root folder/Rolling Cache in the case of Steam users, microsoft.limitless_8wekdfkjghfkuhvkjdfngkf/local cache in the case of MS Store users, deleting it will have MSFS create a new file at the default 16GB size.
Yes indeed, but I think it is worth asking Asobo why there is no button to delete the cache in 2024 as there is in 2020.
This nonsense of customers having to go into their computer files to make alterations is rather daft/lazy. Yes I know that people like us who have been using various MSFSs for years are used to “tweaking” but people new to the party should be catered for. In particular this issue of say a new player making an overly large rolling cache not being able to make it smaller without manually deleting files on their computer.
