The A10 it is ok, but it is a bit turtle for intercept planes (yes, we can intercept now with the A10 Cesnna 172s) with the transponder in off haha (and no radio responsing hahaha), a Mach2 (or more for a Concorde interception haha) fighter is ok.
Hope this happen in the near future, or they have time still to the November 19th to include it… haha
None of the versions have a decent default jet fighter aircraft.

I hope you didn’t miss that the F/A-18E still is featured even in the standard edition?
While it’s not going Mach 2 it goes at least up to Mach 1.82 in optimal conditions.
F18 isnt as bad as the rep it gets. Ok not many systems or switches to play with but its not a bad flight model. Admittedly AoA needs looking at but its ok for a base level fighter. Ive certainly seen worse attempts
The F-18 MSFS Standard only does Mach 1.6 approx. like new F-18s, levelled at cruise level, a “shame”, IRL for war market bussines to not compete with other models sure. In MSFS at FL390 you need intermittently use post-combustion to maintain an A320 same speed… haha, because at full non post-combustion power you cannot maintain the A320 ECO cruise speed!..
(Edit: or maybe it was climbing at same speed with A320s or other planes, more than one time that I needed use afterburners to follow them I remember, two years ago or so, I do not remember well, or in all situations climbing and cruise haha, since then I used other mods like this one, and after the mod that I link).
So yes, IN, MSFS the F-18E is not a “fat” fighter.
You need this mod that I use always Asobo F/A-18 Super Hornet - Engine power enhancement for Microsoft Flight Simulator | MSFS , and then, and only then, yes, it become in one of the best fighter even compared with other paid MSFS addons, and one of my favourite aircraft nowadays (with that mod) though is “only” 1.80 Mach…, like “old” IRL F-18s.
So, yes, MSFS lacks of a included fat fighter (without mods…), and probably MSFS 2024.
would be great to have some 60s/70s powerful jets but with out fly by wire so you can get into trouble. when the Mig 21 was released for all its faults it could be a handful , until it was updated and now it flies like the stock F/A 18. The F 104 seems to have been tamed too.
I guess I did. I looked at lists of all the editions and I must have missed it.
Aircraft aside, it would be nice if Asobo could pay some attention to how afterburners are actually operated.
They were able include also the starring F-14 in the Maverick films in MSFS 2020, or with an upgraded DLC at least for MSFS 2024, Mach 2.3, not bad.

I you really want a fat fighter, try the Got Friends F4F Wildcat. 
Fighter jets within MSFS are nothing more then a fun way of travel and roarrrr through the grand canyon, mach loop etc.
In case I want to shoot and bomb things I fire up DCS and my daily there is the Viper.
