I must be doing something wrong in Career Mode

I have 3 planes so far (basic 172, Caravan and PC-24). I accumulate 400K each flight but pay a heavy fee in maintenance and insurance. I have passive income on. But no way I’ll ever get 400 million to buy a 737. How is it possible to get those numbers when I am flying 8 hours a day. I only have 2 million credits now.

■■■■ PC24 is so buggy.

Fortunately you only need 99 million for a brand new B737  second of all, 400k each flight is with skipping, if you fly full flight you will get around a million. Some missions are worth up to 830k (highest I’ve seen) in base contract, with bonuses this is worth around 1.7-2m. So yeah, you have to grind and that’s how everyone else is playing  Just do stuff you like from time to time, I do some sightseeing just to fly in the 172 or bonanza…
Also for maintenance, don’t just click maintain in the main list, get into details. Landing gear is a fine example, where the full maintenance cost on pc-24 is like 150k (can’t remember) but often the only thing requiring immediate maintenance are tires which cost like 1500 each. I do checkups after 3-4 flights just to be on the safe side, 36k is not much compared to how many creds this plane makes.

I just did a PC24 freight and got $800K without skipping. That plane can’t be skipped as you will lose your steering when landing. OK - It may take a year to get me to buy a 737.

how hefty are you’re maintenance and insurance bills? I’m making about 1mil per flight with the PC24, I have a vision jet, Sky Courier and Caravan all with crew on and they make about an extra 1-1.5mil per day if I fly all day

Unless you’re landings are rough you don’t have to pay maintenance after every flight, I usually go for mid insurance level on big purchases (PC24 and SkyCourier) others get the minimum to save cost

Moved to User Support Hub as OP is requesting community assistance.

Grind your landings, get it into your bones how to apways get smooth landings, dont be afraid to go around if you’re coming in to hot, got 10 planes generating passive income at the moment and my missions payout about 1-1.5 mill every flight.
I also choose medium insurance on the planes i fly myself, the crew ones are on the cheapest level.

anybody have a crew crash a plane?

No never had that, just the normal wear and tear

That’s how I bought 737: Fly Medium cargo missions and buy a few 172’s after each flight and set crew on them. When you have 100-300 of 172’s they will generate good passive income. After a week you can sell them and buy 737. In addition, to speed up grinding process increase sim rate during flight instead of skipping. Your flights will take not more than 20-30 minutes in real life and you will get 700k-1.2m for each flight.
737 will bring you a very good income, 2 to 15 millions for each flight. Plus, there are A LOT of missions for 737 in each large airport. Just click on airport and then on Missions list of a certain airport. There will be 20-30 destinations with different duration from 30 minutes to 16 hours.
Good luck

I had a rash of bugs in the caravan two days ago… 5 flights 5 crashes after flying successfully for a week. 2 of the crashes were related to the game telling me I had to land with 20 to 30 knot tailwinds. ( previously I ignored the game and used my atc to announce a landing on the opposite runway only to have points deducted for landing on the wrong runway) another crash when I had to taxy next to a building without enough space for the caravan to get by and the wind hitting the building ( previously it seemed that object detection was turned off) another crash while descending with no issues or overspeed 1500fpm descent but system just stopped and said I crashed my plane. last one was actually my fault with a 20-30kt gusting crosswind taking off from a tiny barely paved runway and I lifted too early stalled and cam back down off the runway tried to correct and groundlooped.

5 crashes in one day was enough for me to say no more to the ■■■■■■ career mode… I would rather use the thirdparty career and ATC

The grind is painful, but once you get pc-12 everything changes  It’s soo much better to fly and land than caravan. I think that in current format, unlocking pc-12 is unlocking the endgame, so that you can grind to that 737 at least
As for wrong runway - the key is to change runway via atc, announce position and NOT use enter to automatically announce final, as it might switch to the original runway. When on final just press 2 and it should allow you to land on the one you want (at least it works for me every time).
I see a lot of posts regarding caravan crashes, I need to start rolling one to see for myself. This is my first ms sim game and I must admit I crashed caravan multiple times, but recently whatever plane I take I can land in almost any conditions (so I guess experience?).

I grinded for 1,5 months slowly building an armada of planes in my companies, then bought the Boeing 737 MAX 8, now i get S ratings on 80% of my flights A on the rest in my boeing, earn just about 7 million in income for my flights and another 4 millons in passive income, but okay i have 39 planes flying for passive income.
I never cheated, it’s a aggravated grind at times but now it’s all just a great joy.
The goal now is building a big ■■■ piggy bank so i have resources enough to buy a few heavy cargo planes when those missions finally drops.
