I’m looking to fly all the states in the US, maybe visit all the capitals. Have you done this? Can you recommend a flight plan that encompasses all the state capitals?
Don’t worry I’ve worked out a rough route and will make it up as I go along.
That’s probably the way it would be done in the real-world (figuring it out). You won’t find a single flight plan that includes all 50 US capitals.
Yeah it’s quite a lot of work to do in one go. Took me 15-20 mins just to plan one leg LOL.
Try using skyvector (skyvector.com). You can often find approved routes in the flight planner.
are you going VFR or IFR?
I’d do up and down the whole east coast and nearby states in one swing since they’re all fairly short hauls for the most part. As you swing out west, and especially west of the Mississippi River, the flight legs will become much longer and will take quite a while in some cases.

I created this a loooong time ago. Don’t think it’s exactly what you want as I think I just wanted to hit all (3.4 KB) states. It’s also only airport-to-airport, with no waypoints.
I just added a tour of all 50 state capitals (latest version, see the User’s Guide). You have to optimize it via the button, though. Probably delete Hawaii and Alaska too, change the start and end waypoints, add a few airports. Very simple to do all that.
Mostly IFR with some VFR sight seeing.
