The CPU is a physically different socket as is always the case with Intel. You’ll need a new motherboard which supports 12th gen CPUs.
On the other hand, the GPU will work with anything. However you’d need to check that your PSU has the capacity to power it, and that it will physically fit in the case.
Its only a PCIe3 bus, so your 3080ti isnt going to get the best throughput. Id keep the processor, get the 3080 ti buy a PCIe4 bus motherboard and some faster memory, move things from the old to the new if it was me. Then down the road upgrade the processor. Though from what Ive been reading the 12 proc isnt the best processor out there, you might be better off with the one you have or a slightly newer one. IMHO
I own EVGA SuperNOVA 850W PSU I think its enough.
Thanks a lot
PCIe3 speeds are still unachievable in real life situations as far as I know, it’s not a real hold back.
His old CPU wont fit a new board so it will sit in a closet until such time as he purchases new.
I have 32 GbDDR4 DRAM 3000 MHz C15 Corsair I think its ok.
Which faster cpu I could put in this motherboard ? 9, 10 or 11 or nothing of them?
Probably I will have to change my motherboard soon as you say…
I believe 12th and 13th gen are going to be on the same socket but aside from that anomaly your quote is true.
