While years ago i could build a computer, that was about 20 years ago I havent kept up with it hence all this is nearly greek to me anymore. The ram speed I believe is 2666? Thank you for your input. I was never a gamer, rather running some CAD programs, I am coming from xplane 11 however so I do have some flight sim experience, and am excited to get into this one.
I had the same reservations about the 256 SSD and i plan to upgrade that at some point too. But for now I hope to get by, I had to draw the line somewhere lol. Easy to spend 4k on these things. I spent around 1500 including the extra ram, tax, etc. I certainly will spend more as i go, Iām sure lol.
Iām sure most of my flying will be not in the cities but even if i have to drop the quality a little bit when i plan to, Iāll be happy. Im sure Iāll get the itch to go everywhere

I would probably have went for a 2070 instead of the 2060, but you will still be able to fly with settings mostly on high.
All will come down to āfine tuningā not just the sim, but also Windows and Nvidia.
This video will give you some good leads (they switch from a 2080Ti to a 2060 towards the end of the video.
yes the ram speed I have is 2666 and spent about $1600 on my set up but got a bigger flash boot drive, a 2 TB hard drive, a blue ray burner.

Performances are very poor.
Fps between 20-35 on high settingā¦
I thibk that developpers have to improve performances because actually itās a shameā¦

I am running it in a laptop with 17-10875H/32GB/RTX-2060 6GB in High with a descent FPS.
I suggest you find a GPU that is 8GB as I think it is really a GPU hogged game. My RTX 2060 running in 1800mhz clock is almost always on itās knees. LOL.
I have an I7 9700K (not overclocked), RTX2070, 32 GB of 2666 Mhz RAM and FS2020 is installed on itĀ“s dedicated 250 GB SSD.
Running on Medium to High settings on 1080p to get between 40 to 60 FPS. If I go to NYC it will drop dramatically so forget about Ultra with your setup unless youĀ“re only gonna fly outside of cities.
According to MSFS my GPU is the limiting factor! I find it pretty insane considering an RTX2070 is no slouchā¦ Really hope they optimize the sim better.
In the event that youāre still in cad land. Everything runs just fine on Quadros. Iām in the middle of a big project and am too lazy to put my 2060S back in so Iāve been playing on my p2000. Can easily pull 30fps on 1080 medium/high in big city airports and +30fps on 1080 high/ultra everywhere else (both those numbers in the cj). I should have a rtx4000 in a week or so to try going even further.
The i5 6600 is a 1151 socket, and the i7 10700 a 1200 socket?

You must have misunderstood something. I donāt laugh at people, their opinions or problems on this forum or elsewhere. My only intention is to try and help other - between flying (until occasional crashes 
) and enjoying this sim.
Iām using AMD Ryzen 3600, 32GB ram, RTX2060 6GB VRAM with Windows10 Pro build 2004. Which I am able to get 35FPS to 50FPS with setting set to high end. Fly with Cessna over New York city is able to obtain within 35FPS to 45FPS. My resolution is 1440px..
Ryzen users getting better results (and no stuttering) than Intelās as far as i can see. Any Intel happy user around? (Me not).

Why ultra? Because Iām enjoying the scenery and the beautiful world they prepared for us. Also at cruising speed I dont see a huge difference between 30 and 60-70 FPS when playing on High.

i9 9820x here, no stuttersā¦ and the processor barely goes above 50%, it throttles the GPU mostly.

How is it possible that IĀ“m running an i7 9700k with an RTX 2070 and 32 gigs of RAM at 1080p and Iām having to run it at High / Medium and youāre running 4K at high and saying that it runs great? By the way, the i7 9900 doesnāt existā¦
Sorry, I meant I7 9700 (not the K). Lower resolutions and settings do not improve frame rate much for me, but degrade the UI significantly.
I leave it at default high and am very happy with performance.
One caveatā¦ I fly prop planes exclusively. Iām not into the airliners.
