I7-9700 and rtx 2060

So when I originally purchased the game i was on a prayer that my laptop could run it. Which turns out, doesnt work. So I ordered a new desktop today and am having reservations it may not be enough.

Intel i7 9700, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 6GB GDDR6, 256GB SSD + 1TB HDD, 16GB RAM,

I already ordered ram to upgrade to 32gb. But does anyone have a similar setup? How is it doing? Ultimately I would like to be on the higher settings. Any advice / feedback is appreciated.

Should be able to run all on high (there are a lot of variations from system to system) but im running 50/50 ultra/high on a i7 8700 / 2070 / 32gb ram. I’d suggest installing it on the SSD. Use XMP profile on RAM if you can.

What resolution? Terrain/object LOD? FPS over NYC? Cheers and happy flying!

Good to hear! Thanks!

Seems that should do it but there are still performance problems reported by those with similar systems. I’m coming off a i5 6600 and going to a i7 10700 but don’t expect miracles. Going to wait on 3000 series graphics card cause so far the game is CPU limited.
Best wishes for your new system and hoping they get the code optimized.

Well, I’m running a u4320q monitor, which is 3840x2160, but I doubt that’s going to fly, so as high as i can get away with.

I do hope to upgrade once the 3000 series come out. I needed a new computer for work anyways so I settled on this for not too much $$ with the intent to upgrade in a year or two. If it will run 30fps + on the high setting I’ll be ecstatic.

Its a question of your budget. But an RTX2070S will be much better due to the 8GB VRAM and almost as good as the recommended top-end 2080. RAM speed also counts a lot but U didn’t mention that

Budget is what dictated the 2060, I looked at one with a 2080 but was 350 more, ive already stretched what I said I was going to spend unfortunately. The ram it comes with is 16gb but i ordered more to upgrade to 32gb.

Currently my laptop wont even load it fully. So was just looking for confirmation that this was going to be adequate.

I’m on a 3700x OC to 4.2ghz, RTX 2060, and 32GB 2666 Mhz Ram OC to 3K and get ~60fps on high and ~40-45FPS on ultra. 1080p vsync 60hz. Is fine, I just stick to high.

I’m using 3700x, 2060s, 32gb on 3440:1440p 34” ultra wide 144mhz. M.2 SSD. Boosting GPU with Afterburner, CPU game boost with Ryzen master. XMP ram at 3200mhz.

Averaging around 40-50fps on mainly high settings, G-sync off. Sliders at 100. Few other settings medium like FOD, shadows.

Runs very smooth in my experience :+1:

Basically , i have the same setting ,RAM 32 , M.2 1T ,2 SSD 1 TB each , NVIDIA 2060 , I 7.
I would go higher soon as it seems its not enough sometimes , planing to build new PC by Christmas with 3080 and i9
warning , not an expert , good luck to you

IMO laptops not suitable unless currently top-ed gaming,
What you ordered is: CPU=almost top-end, GPU=mid-range, RAM=enough (but what RAM speed /CL), SSD=OK. Should give you good performance at 1080p, expect FPS hit with higher resolution-range Just in case you don’t know: a flight sim app is not a shooter game where high FPS counts or can be achieved. 30-60 FPS gives a good play.

I have a R5 2600X, RTX 2060, and 16 GB 3200mHz RAM. I run it on 1080p ultra. Granted, I fly around smaller cities such as Winnipeg and Brandon in Manitoba. But I’ve flown to Melbourne as well to see the obelisk and a few other bigger cities here and there. They were mostly smooth. Outside cities, it runs very good.

Today, my UHD monitor arrived, I’m looking to push the resolution up and perhaps lower down graphical quality.

Thanks, a realistic approach, good contribution and no moaning with out of the world expectation

i9 9820X, GeForce 2070 RTX 8GB DDR6, 32GB RAM 3200MHZ, SSD NVMe M.2 (2000~ mb/s r/w rate). I play it on 2560x1440. Same as the others, on high settings around 50-60fps, on ultra around 30-40 (depends a lot on the location). Also, the GPU stays at 95% while in menu, which is beyond me tbh, not even if you mine bitcoins you can put this GPU at 95%-100%, hell not even Witcher 3 (75%). Got the same disappointment as with Tarkov. Some people payed like 1400€ for a 2080 ti super only to get rougly the same fps. I’d cry inside…

If 40-60fps is good enough for you all cool, but if you expect higher numbers like I did… I personally preffer 60-80 fps to feel eye confortable but I guess it’s still not the age of aquarius or something.

Also a question/reminder, if twitching your graphics settings, I heard sometimes they don’t apply and you have to delete cache. 'Sit true? (specially the ones reffering to textures, terrain quality, models, etc)

EDIT: I think the 256GB SSD disk is gonna run short for you. This game is expected to grow around 100-150gb.

Think with flight sims, anything higher than 40fps will return great experience. Other games like CoD, Forza I’m at around 80-100.

Changing from 27” 1080p 16:9 to 34” 1440p 21:9 was best move I made.

that is what I have, I got my computer about a month because our old one was dying and I wanted something that will be good for a few years. I do have 32 GB ram. I can FS2020 with no problems high… I have not tried Ultra yet should give it a try and see. No frame issues, no stuttering. Smooth as butter
