Icon A5 - Deploy Landing Gear in Water?

I tried a couple of flights to test this area. I was able to land gear-up at KPNS (with some nice scrapping sounds!), but the two gear-down landings into the bay east of base both ended unsuccessfully with the “crash” box showing. I’ll try some other areas to see if it’s related to what type of body of water you land on.

I just had an epiphany… always wanted to use that word.
I may have crash, stress and that sort of options set to off…. oops…
That may have affected the realism and would point to ME as the culprit messing this test up.

Careful, slightest bump on the ground will crash.

I have found lowering the undercarriage whilst taxiing slowly! downwind helps a lot in turning into wind for take off. No way will you forget to raise it again, wont go anywhere fast if the gear is left down.

It worked!

I always just “beached” myself here but that was the end of the flight. But now I can (maybe?) taxi down into the water, retract my gear and take off! I didn’t have any crash avoidance on. I just landed in the water and a short distance from shore I extended the landing gear and rolled right up on the beach, made a little turnaround and what a view!
