If i were to get a new monitor, what one for X-Box?

I’m seeing a lot of chat for PC’s but not so much for X-Box users.

If I wanted a new (bigger) monitor for my X-Box sim setup, what should I be looking at??

Currently have a samsung 32" 4k monitor but its not HDR or whatever it is, there are a couple of tick-boxes unticked.

Can I have some suggestions as to really good display options please, ones that will tick all compatibility options for best picture, be available in various sizes larger than 32", give excellent images for FS2020 and can be placed pretty close to seating position etc

Being a little future-proof would be good too as one day I might go for a PC, but not yet.

Many thanks

I like the LG OLED C1 for an Xbox. It’s great 4k monitor and also works well with other games/uses.

That’s a grand plus on a TV just for gaming use? There are much better (cheaper) options or maybe I’m not that serious about my gaming  I game every day btw. Whether it be MSFS or if I fancy shooting M’fers in the face on The division 2.

For information only - Can anyone that knows specs, have a look at this TV - https://www.electronicworldtv.co.uk/55-samsung-ue55hu7200-curved-4k-ultra-hd-freeview-hd-freesat-hd-smart-led-tv-ue55hu7200

This is the main TV we have in the living room, its getting a bit old now so we may be looking to go OLED - is it good enough for FS2020 up-close??

I’m a bit baffled by all the specs but want a good display that works really close up for FS.

Dave, are you UK based? Check Argos out, brand new, not graded similar prices, decent selection

That was only for information, i would buy new.

An LG C1 can be had for less than 900.00 now that the C2 is out. Shop around. I have the Gigabyte Aorus Fo48u 48 inch which uses the same LG OLED panel. No regrets, and night flying never looked so good, because blacks and superb contrast ratio is what OLED is all about. I cant go back to a regular monitor - not even a VA panel.

Your next bet is a Quantum dot (NeoQLED) monitor or 43 to 48 inch TV. Blacks are almost as good, and does not suffer from the automatic brightness limiter of OLED, Plus much brighter for HDR.

If you go for a TV, keep in mind that if your Graphics card does not have HDMI 2.1 you won’t be able to run at full 120hz refresh rate with VRR enabled. In which case go for a monitor which also has DisplayPort. TV’s as of yet do not have DisplayPort.

For under $1000, the Hisense U7G 55 can handle every single feature of Xbox SX and looks good, for about $600. Viewing angles are not great, but it’s the best option under $1000 and is a hotrod of a TV. The LG OLED’s own all for everything else, even LCD’s priced way higher. The 48" LG OLED C1 was the entry point into the technology, and has been creeping below $1000 lately, but really the Costco $1200ish 55 is really the bang for the buck OLED on a budget. I’m fancy pants with a Sony A90J 65 in the living room, but for my personal setup in the basement I went with the Hisense and love it. It covers every single option for the XBSX.

It’s on an articulated mount so I can put it back against the wall or move it as needed when I roll the racing rig up to it. It’s nearly 2’ away from the wall in this pic. Just unplug the USB and buttkicker lead and move the table out of the way. TV sits the same way behind the racing wheel with my titan rig on casters.

Using a Samsung 77” tv with the X box X

Then you’re good to go.

Hello. I have a LG OLED C1 48" TV and a RTX 3070 and my sim is running in 4K resolution (G-SYNC, 120hz, Renderscale 100%, Ultra/High graphic settings). But in the cockpit, all lettering, fonts, numbers are very blurry and unsharp, especially on the instruments. Mostly at aircraft with glass displays. It hurts my eyes and makes me dizzy if I look at it any longer…:face_with_crossed_out_eyes::persevering_face::see_no_evil_monkey:

Is that normal, or can i make it better with some Nvidia settings…? Thanks!

May want to check on a PC thread, on XBOX SX even the 55" close up has everything clearly legible and crisp. All gauges, simulated screw heads, fabrics, all perfect.

You can read all the lettering under the buttons, switches, knobs on a G1000 from the normal seat position, or only when you zoom in forward…?
