For my purposes, with only building a desktop panel, I’m okay either way. If I were building a true
full-scale hardware cockpit, I would want all elements of the cockpit removed, as I would obviously have my own hardware in place.
There is a post in another thread where it looks like they managed to completely remove everything. I haven’t tried it yet, as I’ve had very little time to do anything fun in the sim in a long time.
Ideally, though, I wouldn’t have to mess with aircraft files in order to do this. Ideally, there would be a couple of settings.
The irony of a lot of this Xbox whinging is that the Xbox Series X is more powerful than many PCs that people are using. It’s certainly more powerful than mine.
Does Microsoft Word work on it? Excel? Firefox? Thunderbird? LittleNavMap? An Epson all-in-one printer/scanner? Adobe Photoshop? Adobe Reader? Videolan?
Remove logbook pop-up after ending the flight.
Add properly simulated fog (very low ceilings, low RVRs, low visibility)… and not only in weather presets, but in live weather as well.
Really? That’s to me part of the secret sauce that gives this sim the “wow factor” above previous versions and competitors.
I don’t want a “generic, looks something like what the scenery might actually look like” sim like we had before. I want “looks almost exactly like real life” in the sim.
It’s the satellite data scenery and the fact it covers the entire globe that sets the sim apart. The photogrammetry looks pretty poor a lot of the time. Sure, there are some areas that got great high detail data sets to build from and sometimes you might get a clean feed from an uncongested server but most of the time you don’t get good servers and there are only a couple of cities that had good enough data.
The ability to just add a wing view without having to change coding in the aircraft config file. It just seems so awkward yet surely can be so simple to implement in the sim.
There’s plenty of course, but I’d appreciate the ability to fully detach from the online element if I wanted to.
I quite often end up in places with no internet for periods of time, and other times I do not wish to wait 3-8 hours before I can fly again until it updates.
Make some bulletproof caching for my chosen areas and functions and allow me to operate without updates or connection.
When I choose to reconnect that’s when you can wallop me with days of downloading again. Until then I’d rather operate in my own private bubble.
